This is where I spent the nights of May 15 and 16, about 1.5 miles off the road to Goosenecks State Park in the southeast corner of Utah.  5/16/06

On May 17, I biked over to the San Juan River canyon from my campsite and hiked almost to the bottom.   A raft can be seen just below the middle bend.
It is floating downstream from Goosenecks State Park which is behind me.

I met this beautiful green lizard along the trail down to the river.  It was very photogenic and I got many photos.  5/17/06

On my birthday, May 18, after a day in Moab, I climbed up on Whitbeck Rock, a place where I spent lots of time 10 years ago.
I had been planning to camp at the bottom where I used to, but the road to it had become extremely sandy and I didn't want to risk trying to drive out there.

This is another spot where I spent lots of time in the past.  It overlooks Shafer Canyon in the northernmost part of Canyonlands National Park.  5/19/06.

Overlooking Long Canyon, an easy bike ride northeast from my campsite.  5/20/06

Yours truly, at an even closer overlook.   View is east toward Potash and Moab.  5/21/06

Yours truly again in my "comfortable" quarters on a most scenic hilltop overlooking Dead Horse Point State Park and Canyonlands National Park. 5/21/06
